October 2024 Hanover Mini Reunion

It was a perfect fall weekend in New England. While not quite in full color, the leaves were nonetheless beautiful. There was plenty going on to keep everyone busy.

  • Activities commenced on Friday with the dedicaton of Memorial Stadium to Buddy Tevens.
  • The Class Committee met in the Zimmerman Lounge in Blunt Alumni Center. Catch the video recording of the meeting and the agenda on the Class Committee meeting minutes page.
  • At 11:30 we moved to the lawn in front of AD for a pre-game tailgate.
  • At 1:30 Dartmouth played Penn winning in a close fought 20 to 17 victory.
  • At 4:00 we joined staff at the Hood museum for a viewing and discussion of the gorgeous Occultation 2024 painting by Osamu Kobayashi, an acquisition by our Arts Legacy committee for the Hood. Haely Chang, Associate Curator of East Asian Art presented the Kobayashi. The viewing of Occultation 2024 was followed by a tour of the Hood’s sculpture exhibit titled “Living with Sculpture.” The discussion was led by the always energetic, entertaining and educating Elizabeth Rice Mattison, Curator of Academic Programming and Curator of European Art.
  • At 5:00 we gathered in room 001 of the Black Family Visual Arts Center for a presentation of clips of Sasha Agenor’s film “Munchies.” Sasha is the first recipient of the Arts Legacy committee’s Project Greenlight student grant program.
  •  We wrapped up the day with dinner at Murphy’s on the Green.

Don’t miss David Peck’s great photos from the weekend.
