January 2024

  • Be sure to read Mark Waterhouse’s fascinating travelogue recounting a 2017 trip to Viet Nam. You don’t want to miss it.
  • I am sorry to report the passing of another classmate: John Ray Best.
  • The past few months of Jack Hopke’s ever entertaining Alumni Magazine columns have been posted.
  • New class website construction is underway. Initially, there won’t be much content on the new platform (WordPress) but I will be creating links between the new and the old sites. Navigation between the two will be seamless. When you see the navigation menu move from the left side of the page to the top of the page, you’ll know the migration has commenced.
  • The first of the 2024 webinar season has been announced. Learn more about the program (Author’s Workshop) and sign up on the webinar page. More information coming for our Dream Analysis webinar presented by Pat Bremkamp and All Things Jazz presented by Jack Hopke.

Webb’s near- to mid-infrared sensitivity, and high-resolution imaging and spectroscopic capabilities have already revealed parts of the universe hidden to our eyes, such as stars among clouds of dusts, water in the atmospheres of other worlds, and the deepest image of the universe ever taken.
